Under The Big Sky

November 5, 2021

In honor of American Cancer Society's continual contribution to move mountains with persistent ground breaking research, resulting in a 31% decrease in cancer death rates and over 2.9-million lives saved since 1991, we are celebrating with an evening inspired by the state of Montana, where endless mountains lie and a feeling of HOPE is forever felt under the Big Sky.

Please read if attending Hope Gala

The health and safety of our immune compromised supporters, volunteers, staff and community at-large are of the utmost importance. Therefore, we will be requiring all individuals attending this year’s Hope Gala to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the event.

Starting two (2) weeks prior to the Hope Gala, guests will receive a text message and e-mail from Clear4 and the American Cancer Society with specific directions on how to scan in their vaccination card or request a FREE at-home COVID test. It is important that American Cancer Society have all guest names with e-mail and cell phone number by October 15. This will ensure everyone receives their needed information to attend the Hope Gala. All guests who have completed the upload will ultimately receive a final message of a "blue card" to show on their phone when arriving at the event.

Certainly, we are erring on the side of caution and proceeding deliberately and carefully. However, as a public health organization that serves the immune-compromised, our responsibility is greater to protect the health, safety, and well-being of those that trust us.

We regularly assess potential for in-person events and strictly adhere to all federal and local health department guidance including event size and masking.

We are ready to cheers HOPE, but need your help in celebrating safely!

Cancer Doesn't Quarantine & Neither Can Our Fight!

COVID-19 has struck cancer funding significantly. Now more than ever, we need everyone to take up the fight against cancer.

The impact of the pandemic has reduced the American Cancer Society's ability to fund research by 49%, our lowest research investment this century. Such drastic reductions have decreased crucial treatments and discoveries that improve and save lives. Furthermore, ongoing support for cancer patients and caregivers is at risk. From education and prevention initiatives to programs such as our 24/7 virtual helpline, Hope Lodge & ride share program, the American Cancer Society is struggling to keep the mission alive. We need your help in rising above COVID-19 and continuing the fight against cancer.

With vaccinations making their way across the country, American Cancer Society plans to hold an in-person gala on November 5. However, space will be limited and all CDC guidelines will be enforced. To ensure the opportunity for all to safely participate, we will host a LIVE STREAM from The Press Room. Sponsors who elect to participate remotely, will have their meals delivered to them.  From celebrating in-person at The Press Room to cozy couch watching and small home gatherings,  this year's gala will  serve as a hybrid event, allowing all to take part.
