Cancer Doesn't Quarantine & Neither Can Our Fight
COVID-19 has struck cancer funding significantly. Now more than ever, we need everyone to take up the fight against cancer.
The impact of this year's pandemic will reduce the American Cancer Society's ability to fund research by 50%, our lowest research investment this century. Such drastic reductions will decrease crucial treatments and discoveries that improve and save lives. Furthermore, ongoing support for cancer patients and caregivers is at risk. From education and prevention initiatives to programs such as our 24/7 virtual helpline, Hope Lodge & ride share program, the American Cancer Society is struggling to keep the mission alive and needs your help in rising above COVID-19 and continuing the fight against cancer.
This year's virtual experience will combine the galas of Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville & Memphis in efforts to conserve funding while increasing reach. In doing so, popular community leaders from east to west will appear on a one-hour virtual celebration encouraging everyone to find fun ways from home to celebrate the American Cancer Society mission. From festive satellite viewing parties to cozy self-quarantine couch watching, this year's event allows one to take part in the event in their own way. With nationwide popular guests expected to make surprise appearances, make sure to mark your calendars today for this one-time experience you won't want to miss!
