Cancer Doesn't Quarantine & Neither Can Our Fight
COVID-19 has struck cancer funding significantly. Now more than ever, we need everyone to take up the fight against cancer.
The impact of the pandemic has reduced the American Cancer Society's ability to fund research by 50%, our lowest research investment this century. Such drastic reductions have decreased crucial treatments and discoveries that improve and save lives. Furthermore, ongoing support for cancer patients and caregivers is at risk. From education and prevention initiatives to programs such as our 24/7 virtual helpline, Hope Lodge & ride share program, the American Cancer Society is struggling to keep the mission alive. We need your help in rising above COVID-19 and continuing the fight against cancer.
With vaccinations making their way across the country, American Cancer Society plans to hold an in-person gala on November 5. However, space will be limited and all CDC guidelines will be enforced. To ensure the opportunity for all to safely participate, we will host a LIVE STREAM from The Press Room. Sponsors who elect to participate remotely, will have their meals delivered to them. From in-person cozy couch watching or small home gatherings to celebrating in-person at The Press Room, this year's gala will serve as a hybrid event, allowing all to take part.
